How to Adopt

How to Adopt an Animal from Grundy County Animal Services

Adoption meetings can be scheduled between 10am and 3pm Monday through Friday. Follow the steps below to meet your next family member!

Step 1. Visit the appropriate Adoptable Animals page to learn more information about animals up for adoption.

Step 2. Download an adoption application here. If you aren't sure which animal is right for you, call our office to speak with a staff member.

Step 3. Once your application is received and approved, staff will call you to discuss the pet you wish to meet and schedule an in-person meeting. Please note a submitted application does not place that pet on hold for you or guarantee you will be able to meet that pet. Applications can either be submitted in person at our office or emailed to us.

Step 4. Meet your potential new pet and if it is a perfect match, complete the adoption and take your new pet home! We know bringing home a new pet is a big deal, so we encourage applicants to take as much time as they need to assess if the pet they're interested in is the right fit for their family.

Please Note for Application Approval: All resident cats and dogs must be vaccinated against rabies. Same species animals in the home must be spayed or neutered.
